Vitamins May Cut Infections in Diabetics
Taking a multivitamin supplement may dramatically reduce infections in people with diabetes, according to a study published in 2003 in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Among study participants with diabetes, only 17 percent of those who took a multivitamin reported cold or flulike illness in the previous year, compared with 93 percent of those who didn't take the multivitamin.
