Treatment - varicose veins

 Information

Heredity (the traits passed down to you from your parents and grandparents) plays a major role in determining whether you will get varicose veins.

Some preventive measures include exercising to strengthen the muscles that support the veins, wearing support hose (especially during pregnancy), and avoiding standing up for prolonged periods.

Surgery can remove varicose veins if they cause pain, or if their appearance causes you embarrassment.
